If the stats are the building blocks of a character, then these are to add even more blocks to said character. When role playing, even if just socially, you always get at least 1 EXP point per game. Gaining EXP can be done in a number of ways- with the two most prominent being battle and/or completing tasks. When gaining EXP, keep track of how much EXP you have gained throughout your character's existence, then also keep track of how much you have on you after you spent them.
EXP is put in to stats, with a different price for each of the stats in your character sheet. (Except HP and MP which are increased by putting points in to three of the stats in either Physical (HP) or Mental (MP).)
Below is the cost for different stat increases.
Attributes (IE- Strength, Charisma, Perception)
2- 20 3- 30 4- 40 5- 50
Abilities (IE- Brawl, Magic, socialize)
1- 5 2- 10 3- 15 4- 20 5- 25
Magic class (IE- Necromancy, ice magic, earth magic, etc)
1- 10 2- 30 3- 50 4- 70 5- 90
Backgrounds (IE- Allies, contacts, etc)
1- 10 2- 20 3- 30 4- 40 5- 50
Virtues (AKA Conscience, Self-control, Courage)
2- 20 3- 30 4- 40 5- 50
Other Traits (AKA Not anything covered by abilities)
1- 10 2- 20 3- 30 4- 40 5- 50
