Weapons! They come in a variety of different types! You can have swords, axes, brass knuckles, whips, chain weapons, bows, javelins! Anything that does damage in that doesn't require you directly touch them, or using magic.
Their are two different types of weapons: Melee and ranged. Melee is for short range damage while ranged requires ammo or that you throw them. (You can of coarse also throw melee weapons, but then you have to pick them back back up later if you want to keep them).
When using melee weapons such as swords, axes, hammers, pole arms and the sort, you roll your strength and melee stats. For each point you have in melee, you can chose a melee weapon to become more versed in, making the difficulty to hit or block with them lower.
When using ranged weapons, you roll your dexterity and ranged stat. For each point you put in the ranged stat, the more ranged weapons you are more well versed in, making them easier to hit with.
There are a number of different types of weapons, but they all fall under a few different damage types. The different damage types have different effects, which are listed below.
Bludgeoning- Smashing things, with hammers, clubs, or even a tree branch. This is more likely to knock someone unconscious first before you actually kill them.
Slashing- For things such as swords, axes, knives and the like. These will cause lethal damage, and you are more likely to directly kill something with this than knock them out.
Piercing- For weapons such as spears, javelins, certain types of swords (Like rapiers). These kinds of weapons are better for getting through certain portions of armor, and can cause more pin-point damage depending on the width of the piercing implement.
Aggravated- Few weapons fall under this category, as aggravated damage is more caused when something is burned or frozen. Things such as fire, ice, electricity, or even poison can cause aggravated damage, and require more then rest to heal.
Weapons also come in a variety of sizes, ranging from small weapons which as easier for closed quarters combat and concealment, to large weapons which are good for long reach and hitting more enemies, but as less likely to be concealed. Some weapons can also have reach, like chain weapons, pole arms, and the like.
