So, you want to make stuff! To make something, you first need to know what you are making, and what kind of tools making that thing is required, as well as the materials.
When crafting something, you roll your intelligence + Craft, and try to get at least 3 dice to meet or beat the difficulty given by the GM. If successful, you get said item you are trying to craft. If you fail, you don't get said item. Either way- in most cases- the materials you have used are lost, meaning if you failed to create the item, you do not get the item you wished to create and also lose the materials needed for making that item.
When crafting something, the number of dice you roll determines the strength of the item. 3 dice that succeed makes it an average item, while every die above the required three makes that item more powerful or potent.
If your craft uses tools, you must first buy said tools. For smithing, you must have a hammer, anvil, tongs and a heat source for heating the metal to work.
For making things such as potions, you require an alchemy set, as well as a number of ingredients to make said potion.
For tailoring, you require needle, thread and clothe.
