Training points and EXP are two different sets of points which can help a character become a stronger warrior, a wiser mage, or a more charismatic character.
Training points start at a set number, and can be put in to any stats the player wishes per character. Once these points are used up, the character can no longer use training points to increase their stats for that day. The next day, their training points replenish to their max to use as they please. These can be put in to HP, MP (Or whatever variant a character uses to cast their special powers), Strength, Defense, Special Power, Special Defense, Speed, Stealth, perception or Charisma to make them stronger. Once a character has put the points in their, they can not take them out and put them in to other stats.
EXP is experience points, and a character gains EXP through adventures or battle. Once a character reaches 1,000 EXP, the character levels up and can unlock a new ability or attack. For certain characters depending on their job, they can earn more attacks or abilities, but attacks and abilities will be covered in their own section. Upon level up, a character gains 100 more total training points, making them able to become even better faster.
When getting EXP from battle, fighting weaker enemies gives less EXP while fighting harder enemies can give more EXP. Use the following sheet below to figure out how much EXP a character can obtain.
