Sometimes it's inevitable, words are gonna be thrown, sometimes junk, then next thing you know you have brawls out in the streets dragging in to the wilds and so forth. This is how you go through a fight and possibly survive it.
The battle works on a turn-based system, with characters stating their speed, and the highest goes first. If there is a tie, both players roll a d20. The highest goes first. If tied, roll again until one player gets a higher number than the other player..
=======================================
Your turn
=======================================
On your turn, you can do the following.
Attack= Depending on what kind of attack you use, you use strength or special power. Strength is for punching, kicking, biting, headbutting, etc. Special Power is used for things such as ki blasts, eye lasers, anything that uses MP to attack, or an attack that specifically says "Special power x#".
Strength contest= You use your strength to try and push an enemy, grapple an enemy, or pull/push an enemy or ally to another place. If used against an enemy, or an ally not wanting to move, the one with the highest strength wins.
Use item= Using one item takes your turn, be it a potion, an energy drink, or anything that helps in battle.
Talk= Try to talk it out. Using more than 5 (Five) words constitutes as an action.
Run away= When all else fails, run. Your speed comes in handy here, as well as any items like smoke bombs and the like.
=======================================
Figuring damage
=======================================
When getting hit with an attack, if a character uses strength based attack you use your full defense stat (+ any armor currently worn) and subtract it from the damage of of the total of the attacker's total damage output (Strength + melee weapon + items used + attack if any used).
If being hit with a special attack, it is basically the same thing, subtracting your defense total against their special power total. If special attack has an element (IE- fire, ice, electricity, etc), special defense comes in to play to prevent status effects (IE- Burn, freeze, paralysis, etc).
=======================================
Talking it out
=======================================
You can talk a person out of fighting by trying to use you're Charisma stat to intimidate, persuade, or seduce them out of the fight. If their wisdom is higher, it does not work. If their wisdom is lower, you need to use three turns of charisma to talk them out of fighting.
========================================
Battle conclusion
========================================
If a character is dropped down to 0 HP, they are out of the battle. If all opponents are lowered down to 0 HP, they are left to the victors' mercy. At this point, they can either kill or spare the opponent. Either way, the EXP is dealt out with full EXP to the victor and half EXP to the defeated. For figuring EXP, go to the Training Points and EXP chart to see how much EXP you get.
If you have talked the opponent out of battle, you get only half the EXP you would get from winning through battle, while the opponents turn and walk off with nothing.
HP and MP does NOT reset to full after battle. To restore HP, use a potion or healing technique. For MP, you need an MP restoring item.
